Demonstration march

Foreigners living in Japan, especially those from Europe and the US, may be impressed by absence of demonstration march activities on the streets: may be it has gone extinct since e more than 50 years ago. It presents clear symmetrical shape with strikes which I mentioned in the previous column.

In markedly contrast, farmers in Germany and France have just recently blocked highways almost all around the nation to demonstrate their protest to their government which intends to slash down subsidiaries. In major cities in Germany massive number of citizens, reaching 70 thousand for instance in Hamburg, gathered to express objection to AfD party.

For Japanese living in Japan , it is totally unimaginable and even unrealistic that tens of thousands of people go on streets in Tokyo for whatever purpose.

For expats in Europe and USA , there is only one advice: stay home if there is strike on streets!

A view of Rathausmarkt (Town Hall Market) in Hamburg, Germany, This charming part of the city was covered with 70thoudand people just recently.
