We have to check the nature of the nationality for the real communication!

While I stationed in Indonesia 20 years ago, old fashioned personnel systems emphasized “Seniority” were revised.

As a Vice President I tried to negotiate with Labor Union for the reform to make fair payroll and benefit plan. After several meetings Labor Union accepted our new plan but finally it was rejected by the members of the Union because the majority members unaccepted it even though its leaders had accepted beforehand. We were surprised at this ending. If this case was Japanese Labor Union, it was impossible to change its result after its leaders had accepted.

This is because of our prejudice the way of the mentality is the same all over the world.

Of course the priority like the mobile with driver given to the senior secretaries from the company is deprived, they surely want to reject the plan. But they had accepted already! Why did they reject it at the final stage!?

Anyway we could solve the problem using money compensation. We have to know each country’s way of thinking is different. We have lots experts who have experience and knowhow in lots of countries! Why don’ you utilize it!
